About SuperyachtCourses.com
Superyacht crew need a small mountain of certifications — STCW, deck tickets, interior service, engineering courses, ship's cook certificates — and every school markets its own courses on its own website, with its own layout, currency and level of price transparency. SuperyachtCourses.com exists to put that information side by side so you can plan a training path and a budget without twenty browser tabs open.
Where this actually started
This isn't a brand-new idea. SuperyachtCourses.com first launched back in 2012/2013, built and run solo by the same person behind this version — long before comparison sites like this were common in yachting. He also ran two sister sites at the time, SuperyachtCrewGuide.com and SuperyachtCrew.net.
He's now 16 years into a career in the superyacht industry, and brought this back for the same reason it existed the first time: it helped a fair number of crew find their first course, and there's no reason it shouldn't do that again.
What we do
We catalogue courses across four departments — Deck, Interior, Galley and Engineering — from training providers across the UK, France, Spain, the USA, South Africa and Australia. For each course we record the certifying body (MCA, RYA, STCW, PYA/GUEST, WSET, etc.), duration, price where a provider publishes one, typical locations and, where available, upcoming start dates.
What we don't do
We don't take bookings or payments. Every listing shows the provider's own name and website — you always book and pay directly with the school, not through us. We also don't run unattended, automated scrapers against provider websites: many training providers' terms of service restrict automated data collection, and prices/dates are exactly the kind of detail that's worth a human double-check before it's published. Where a provider doesn't publish a price publicly, we mark the course “Price on application” rather than guess.
How “last updated” works
Our team reviews provider pricing and schedules on a weekly cycle: we re-check each source, note anything that's changed, and republish an updated dataset. That's the process behind the “last verified”badge shown across the site — it's a scheduled review, not a live feed, so treat listed prices and dates as a strong starting point and confirm specifics with the provider before booking.

Course pricing and schedules change often, and providers don't always publish updates. If something on this site looks wrong, we'd rather hear about it and fix it than leave it stale.
