Privacy Policy
Effective 9 August 2026
SuperyachtCourses.com (“we”, “us”, “the site”) is an independently run comparison site for superyacht crew training courses. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why, and what choices you have about it. We don't sell your data, and we collect as little of it as the site actually needs to function.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly. If you use the contact, provider-submission or advertising-inquiry forms, we collect whatever you enter — typically your name, email address and message. We use this only to reply to you and to act on the request itself (e.g. adding a provider you submitted).
Your shortlist.The course shortlist feature stores your selections in your browser's own local storage. That data never leaves your device or reaches our servers — we have no way to see what's in it, and it's gone if you clear your browser data.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we (and the third-party services described below) automatically collect some technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring page. We use this in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the site, not to identify you personally.
Third-party services we use
We rely on a small number of third-party services to run the site. Each has its own privacy practices, independent of ours:
- Google Analytics— helps us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device type). Google's own privacy policy covers how it handles this data.
- Google AdSense — serves the advertising shown on the site. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your visits here and elsewhere. See our Cookie Policy for how to control this.
- Resend — delivers the emails generated by our contact and submission forms. It processes the message content only to deliver it to us.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — a privacy-focused bot-check on our forms, used to block automated spam submissions.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Respond to messages sent through our forms;
- Operate, maintain and improve the site, including understanding which pages are useful;
- Detect and prevent spam, abuse and automated misuse of our forms;
- Show advertising, where a network like Google AdSense is enabled; and
- Comply with legal obligations where applicable.
Data retention
We keep form submissions only as long as needed to respond to and resolve the request, then delete them. Aggregated analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' own default retention settings. We don't maintain user accounts or profiles.
Your rights, wherever you're located
If you're in the UK or European Economic Area, UK/EU data protection law gives you the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to request a copy of it in a portable format. If you're a California resident, similar rights are available to you under California privacy law. Wherever you're writing from, the simplest way to exercise any of these is to contact us directly — since we hold very little personal data in the first place, most requests are simple to action quickly.
International visitors
SuperyachtCourses.com is operated from, and this policy is governed by the law of, the U.S. state of Delaware. We have visitors from around the world, and information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own, including the United States, by us or by the third-party services listed above.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for people researching professional maritime training and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site or the services it relies on change. We'll update the effective date above when we do; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
