About this course
One-day revalidation of Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting under the 2010 STCW Code amendments — practical assessments include immersion suit donning, water survival drills, fire extinguisher use and breathing apparatus operation. It's only a single day because it assumes crew have stayed current through monthly fire and safety drills onboard per ISM/flag requirements, rather than repeating the full initial course.
Prerequisites: Valid STCW Basic Training certificate plus at least 1 year of qualifying sea service within the last 5 years — a seaman's discharge book showing that sea service is required at booking.
